What is this about?
Wonder. Storytelling. Human Connection and Study.
Welcome to the drawing movement and thanks for joining us. Drawing is not always easy but those of you who love it, and you know who you are, can't live without it. You can notice your attraction to it at any age. So join the movement, don't listen to other opinions and don't wait for the perfect circumstance or perfect confidence to draw. Drawing is in your dna. You are born with it and it is standard issue in all humans. We don't all speak the same verbal language or even perceive an understanding of the same words. I can say 'it's a mammal with 4 legs, a tail and a head, and I will be seeing an elephant and you will be seeing a giraffe in your mind. But once I draw it there is a greater understanding and communication. Still room for interpretation but closer in understanding. Drawing is truly a tool of communication that you want to have.
Don't wait too long to understand this. Just show up and show the courage of your actions. Believe in yourself and your abilities. Confidence comes from the doing, and trying and showing up -- not from perfection, judgment or the acceptance of your peers. Confidence in your abilities builds by taking action in spite of fear over and over. That's the key. Draw...
If you are looking for a quick short route to drawing, this is not the place. But if you are looking for a community and a lifetime of involvement with artists who love drawing then join us. Ok, so I'm done TALKING about what to do, but one last thing to know is that something wonderful happens in your work and your life when you stop waiting to be chosen, or offered or invited and you just do it and keep doing it.
