“I believe there is a profound disconnect between the skills being taught in schools and the skills that Studios are looking for. With 30 years experience in Hollywood animation, I want to give you an insider’s look at the specific skills needed to find success in the Animation Industry.”
- Brian Mainolfi
As part of CTN’s Education Series, “Finding Success in Animation” with Brian Mainolfi is an eye-opening series of classes filled with insight into the daily routine for three main job titles: Character Designer, Storyboard Artist, and Visual Development Artist. Brian breaks down the difference between the needs of Features and Television Animation, and then further breaks down the different Television formats. The goal is to guide you in creating a portfolio tailored to the practical demands of studio work, increasing your chances of being recruited.
Animation can be anything and done everywhere — but in Hollywood, there are distinct formats with specific practices done for each Studio. Get an insider’s perspective on exactly what the Studios want, with numerous examples, so you can better calibrate your portfolio to that skillset.
Whether you’ve never worked in a studio, want to switch job categories, or 'level up' your skills, we are here to help you prepare.
